/ 21 May 2022 - 20 Jun 2022

SHOUT Art Hub and Gallery in IFC is pleased to announce the exhibition Some Like It Hot-Monroe and Faces of Pop Culture and bringing together some of the most iconic images of the culture of our times to our audience.

With the price tag USD195 million, Shot Sage Blue Marilyn by Andy Warhol sold in Christie’s New York on May 9, 2022 is the most expensive painting of the 20th Century ever sold in auctions. Andy Warhol, the Godfather of Pop Art once again takes the lead of the art market while his influence on today’s artists is still strong. Pop culture and art are ever more intertwined than ever. At the sametime a new group of artists have taken the Pop Art sensitivity further and evolved into Neo Pop Art with leading figures such as Jeff Koons, Takeshi Murakami and Kaws etc.

This exhibition Some Likes It Hot- Monroe and Faces of Pop Culture brings together original paintings, limited edition prints and collectible art merchandise by artists who are inspired by Pop Art and and in the realm of Neo Pop Art movement. Being showcased are limited edition prints by Ron English and Hajime Sorayama that they each offers his own take on Marilyn Monroe’s image, original figures and collectible art merchandises by Kaws who smudges the line between Pop Art and High Art, limited edition and figures by Michael Lau, En Iwamura, Daniel Arsham and Takeshi Murakami that represent Neo Pop Art aesthetics. Last but not least, cart cartoon works by Pat Lee, anime inspired works by Madsaki, Adam Lister and original paintings by Japanese anime aesthetics icon Yoshitaka Amano.
