Offgod (Andrew Mok) / 17 Feb 2022 - 17 Mar 2022

As the first social generation to be exposed to the internet and portable digital technology from an early age, members of Gen Z are known as 'digital natives.' This generation is exposed to more information than any other generation, and the new youth of Gen Z have also shown their own distinct attitude - 'point of view becomes a focus'. The new youth gives an echo to those who want to understand them as best they can: It is not easy to define us with a single label. At the same time, they are boldly opening up a new way of life, with unprecedented courage and self-confidence. One of their most important definitions is that they never allow boredom and monopoly to occupy their lives.

Offgod is a 17-year-old up-and-coming artist and fashion designer based in Hong Kong. He started uploading his artworks to his Instagram account in early 2018 and years later would prosper as an artist and create cover arts for world-renowned rappers such as Juice WRLD and Trippie Redd. Offgod made his first breakthrough in late 2019 when he got the chance to design the cover art for “Reminds Me of You” by The Kid LAROI and the late Juice WRLD. Since then, he has worked with other artists such as Justin Beiber, Trippie Redd, Iann Dior, Lil Tecca, Future, Miley Cyrus, Bella Poarch, and KSI.

Offgod would soon find an interest in fashion as he was inspired by fashion designers and rappers such as Virgil Abloh and Tyler the Creator. Inspiring him to take a pursuit in fashion, creating his own fashion brand, and branching on from just being an artist. Offgod’s work is heavily inspired by music and western fashion culture. Music was a big inspiration for him, as he has been listening to hip hop and rap for most of his life. He also fell in love with western fashion culture, which clearly inspires some of his more recent work.

Shout Art Hub & Gallery not only promotes global art but supports local art. As the most representative artist in Hong Kong in Gen Z, Offgod has rapidly expanded his works and gained hundreds of thousands of followers in the era of rapid social media dissemination. Music also gives him a great source of inspiration, especially hip-hop music, and he has always believed that 'A Good Album can change your life'. Besides, most of the Offgod's works record his daily life and make the characters in daily life interesting and cartoony. The simple and direct expression of his works conveys his understanding of art - simplifying life and simplifying art, which is also the attitude of Gen Z towards life. The theme of this exhibition is also simple and straightforward - 「HELLO! MY NAME IS Offgod」, without too much gorgeous rhetoric, only the simplest dialogue to the world, this is also Shout's slogan - Shout! Everyone is listening.

About Artist
Offgod (Andrew Mok)

Offgod is a 17-year-old up-and-coming artist and fashion designer based in Hong Kong.

He started uploading his artworks to his Instagram account and would create cover arts for underground artists, like on “Winter” by Tekyume.

On March 14, 2021, Offgod announced through an Instagram post that he had signed with Grade A Productions, Juice WRLD’s record label. Which gave Offgod a lot of opportunities to work with bigger rappers. Later on, Offgod would also get co-signs from famous modern Japanese artists Takashi Murakami and Mr., which further inspired him to be an artist.

To this day, Offgod still goes to school and although finding it challenging to balance both school life, work-life, and also trying to maintain a social life, he has managed to find the balance and is thriving at what he is doing.
