Shout Art Hub & Gallery proudly presents the True Colors by Mandalaki Studio from 8 July to 8 August at gallery’s Hysan Place location.
True Colors is inspired and directed by A Better Tomorrow, a Hong Kong noir film. Recalling the memories of our nostalgic movie ‘A Better Tomorrow’, ‘True Colors’ bring us to an atmosphere of the memory. The attractive main character and each character burn themselves to shine in the unique dark background. In hopes, each Mandalaki illumination will emit ‘True Colors (本色)’ in a dark hall.
Dedicated in honor of the movie ‘A Better Tomorrow’.
A film genre born in Hong Kong. The term is used to call crime movies that were pouring out of Hong Kong in the late 1980s and early 1990s in Korea. It was very popular at the time.
Mandalaki studio is a product and consulting design firm founded in 2012 by Enrico De Lotto, George, Kolliopoulos and Giovanni Senin in Milan, Italy. Davide Giovannardi became a partner in 2013.
The team has different educated backgrounds in Product Design, Economy and Art. Mandalaki explores the intersection between design and technology to create unique pieces of high quality and conceptual values as a result of their consistent innovative approach between industrial and artisanal processes.
Halo Horizon “A piece of atmosphere”
Halo Horizon is the first model of a long series to come from the Landscape collection. It takes us back to a specific moment in which, on the border between earth and space, day and night meet for a few moments, giving us a breathtaking landscape. Halo Horizon recreates that luminous phenomenon that occurs in nature, where light bent by gravity and scattered in billions of particles in the atmosphere becomes visible in the form of color and shades opening a space-time window overlooking our planet, and which is directly beamed into your home.
Shout Art Hub & Gallery is not a gallery in the traditional sense. It showcases contemporary art with a focus on pop and street art. Its purpose is to attract people of all ages and bring them into a new and vibrant contemporary. At the same time, Shout is one of Hong Kong's largest melting pot of all art forms.
